  • MG Gloster Black Storm Edition teased ahead of its imminent debut.
  • It could get an all-black hue on the outside and inside to dial up stealth.
  • Expected to be offered with both rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive variants.

MG Motor India has teased the Gloster Black Storm Edition ahead of its imminent launch in the country. The Black Storm Edition, by the looks of it, is expected to get cosmetic tweaks for a stealthier and sportier look.

The teaser doesn’t offer much when it comes to seeing what has changed. But do note that MG already offers a black hue in the Gloster on which this edition builds up on. So it’s likely that the major chrome bits and the alloys could be blacked out for that stealthier look. Even on the inside, the black/tan scheme could be replaced by all-black, similar to Tata’s Dark Editions.

This edition is likely to be offered with both the 161PS 2-litre turbo-diesel and 216PS 2-litre twin-turbo diesel engine options. The former is rear-wheel drive while the latter gets a four-wheel drivetrain. An 8-speed automatic transmission is the sole transmission option for both the engines.

We don’t suspect any major changes to the design or features list of this special edition. And if you want to read our impressions on the MG Gloster, check out our in-depth first drive review. Prices currently start from Rs 38.08 lakh (ex-showroom) and the Black Storm Edition is likely to command a premium.

The Gloster rivals the Toyota Fortuner, Skoda Kodiaq and Jeep Meridian.
