MG Motor India has started exports of its Hector SUV to Nepal. It’s the carmaker’s first model to be exported, and it plans on adding more South Asian countries to the list of destinations soon. It must be noted that the Hector has been rebadged under different names in other countries, for example, the Wuling Almaz in Indonesia.
In India, the MG Hector is currently priced from Rs 13.5 lakh to Rs 19.35 lakh (ex-showroom). It comes in four broad trims: Style, Shine, Smart, and Sharp. Check out our in-depth first drive review of the Hector. The carmaker also offers a six- and seven-seater version of the Hector in the form of the Hector Plus.
As of now, the MG Hector has found over 72,500 homes in India since its launch in June 2019. It locks horns with the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Skoda Kushaq, VW Taigun, Tata Harrier, and Mahindra XUV700.
In related news, the carmaker is preparing to develop a mass-market electric vehicle priced in the range of Rs 10 lakh to Rs 15 lakh. It will rival the Tata Nexon EV.
