MG Registers Highest Monthly EV Sales In October 2022

• MG registered 53 per cent sales growth in October over the period a year-ago.

• Personal highest production count achieved with 5,008 units manufactured in October.

• 784 units of ZS EV sold in October, the highest ever since its inception.

• MG to soon launch facelifted Hector, followed by Wuling Air EV. 

Seems like MG made the most of the festivities this season as the brand reported a 53 per cent growth in sales this October, with 4,367 units sold, compared to the same month last year. This recorded number also includes another personal high for MG – it retailed 784 units of the ZS EV last month, the highest for the electric SUV until now.

MG states that the high sales figure is due to relief in the supply of semiconductor chips, as the brand went on to mark its highest production count of 5,008 units in October 2022. But the positive response specifically to the ZS EV is also because the charging ecosystem is slowly, but surely, improving, with more stations surfacing every day.

The marque’s electric stable, which currently has just the one model – ZS EV – will soon be joined by an entry-level EV. The model in question will be the Wuling Air EV, but it'll be badged as an MG in the country. It will be showcased at the 2023 Auto Expo and will become the smallest EV in the country. But before the EV reaches our shores, MG will launch its next-generation Hector by the end of this year. It gets a revised fascia and an even larger touchscreen infotainment system.
