The MG Windsor EV is set to be the next major launch from the carmaker in India, marking the automaker's third EV in our market. This new crossover EV will be launched in India on September 11. Ahead of its price announcement, customers can make unofficial bookings at select MG showrooms across the country. MG has been releasing teasers for the Windsor EV showcasing new features, with the latest revealing a large touchscreen infotainment unit.
With the teaser, MG confirmed that the Windsor EV will get a 15.6-inch touchscreen system which is the same as that of its Indonesian counterpart: the Wuling Cloud EV. This will be the biggest touch screen on an MG car in India till date. In the teaser, a fully digital driver’s display is also visible (possibly an 8.8-inch unit), which also looks the same as the one offered on its donor vehicle. Also, a blue colour ambient lighting can be seen on the dashboard.
The MG Windsor EV is essentially a rebadged version of the Wuling Cloud EV sold in the Indonesian market. It features a crossover body style with a clean and minimalist design. Although it includes modern, connected LED lighting at both the front and rear, the standout exterior feature is its flush-type door handles.
As shown in previous teasers, the Windsor EV features an identical dashboard as seen in the Wuling Cloud EV. On the dashboard, you get the same bronze and wooden inserts on the dashboard, however the wooden texture is different in the India-spec Windsor EV. However, the India-spec Windsor EV will feature a panoramic glass roof unlike its international counterpart, as confirmed in one of the previous teasers.

The Indonesian-spec Cloud EV gets a 50.6 kWh battery pack mated to a 136 PS electric motor. The detailed specifications are as follows:

In other markets, it gets the option of a smaller 37.9 kWh battery pack which delivers a claimed range of 360 km. Note that the battery pack and claimed range may vary for the India-spec model.
MG could price the Windsor EV from Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival the Tata Nexon EV, Mahindra XUV400 EV, and some variants of the Tata Curvv EV.
