Moto Morini, an Italian brand, will set foot in India with four products this year. The company has teamed up with Adishwar Auto Ride India who also brought Benelli and Keeway in India.
The Italian company is a part of the Zhongneng Vehicle Group Co.Ltd, a Chinese company. Currently, Moto Morini only has the X-Cape adventure motorcycle and Seiemmezzo SCR (Scrambler) and Seiemmezzo STR (Roadster).
The Moto Morini motorcycles use a 649cc liquid-cooled parallel-twin motor pushing 59PS and 56Nm, mated to a 6-speed gearbox. This engine is identical to CFMoto’s 650cc mill, a Chinese brand which hasn’t had a great presence in our market.
With the debut of the X-Cape, the mid-displacement ADV segment, which currently has the Kawasaki Versys 650, Suzuki V-Strom 650XT and the Tiger Sport 660 will face the heat from the Italian ADV.
Adishwar Auto Ride is yet to confirm when the bikes would be debuting. However, it is likely that Moto Morini will be sold in the same showrooms alongside Benelli and Keeway. Benelli currently has 49 dealerships across the country and are steadily expanding.
