New Verna will be offered in EX, S, SX and SX (O) trims.
Will get its most powerful engine ever, debuting the 159PS 1.5-litre turbo petrol unit from i30 in India.
Expected to get a longer list of premium features including driver-assistance features (ADAS).
Prices to start from around Rs 10 lakh onwards (ex-showroom).
Hyundai’s already given us a couple of hints at how the new Verna will look, and now we know its launch date – March 21, 2023. The sedan will get an all-new design and its most powerful engine option ever, the 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine that’s set to make its debut in India with the sedan.
The 2023 Verna is already available to order ahead of its full unveiling and launch. We expect the sedan to be priced from Rs 10 lakh onwards at launch (ex-showroom).
Offered in EX, S, SX and SX(O) trim levels, the new Verna will be equipped with features such as a premium, branded sound system, sunroof and driver-assistance tech (ADAS) such as adaptive cruise control and auto emergency braking. In addition, it should get a 360-degree camera, ventilated seats and a digital driver’s display already offered in other Hyundai models.
Under the bonnet, the Verna will get two engine options – an all-new 1.5-litre turbo-petrol engine from the i30 putting out a class-leading 159PS; and a revised version of the previous 1.5-litre NA petrol engine (no diesel on offer). Both engines are compliant with the more stringent RDE norms. A six-speed manual gearbox is standard and the turbo and NA engines get DCT and iVT (CVT) automatic transmission options.
