Honda has launched the long-awaited new generation Amaze in India with prices starting at Rs 8 lakh (ex-showroom). As seen in the leaked images earlier, the generation update has brought a completely overhauled design and a revamped cabin that is reminiscent of the Elevate. Above all, there is the segment-first advanced drive assistance systems (ADAS) alongside a range of new features. However, the powertrain is unchanged. That said, customer deliveries will start in January 2025.
The Honda Amaze is offered in three broad variants and can be had with both manual and automatic transmissions. Here are the variant-wise prices:

The new generation Amaze features a fresh look. Although it bears a new design language, there are design cues taken from the City and Elevate. A large grille (inspired by the Elevate), LED projector headlights, prominent eyebrow pattern LED DRLs, LED fog lights, and a noticeable chrome stripe running across the edge of the bonnet dominate the front end. In terms of side profile, there are new 15-inch alloy wheels and a sharp shoulder line. The rear comes with new chunky taillights reminiscent of the ones on the City but features distinct lighting elements.
It also comes with new 6 colour options, such as Platimum White Pearl, Radiant Red Metallic, Obsidian Blue Pearl, Lunar Silvar Metallic, Golden Brown Metallic, and Meteroid Grey Metallic. Meanwile, it measures 3,995 mm in length, 1,733 mm width, and 1,500 mm in height with a wheelbase of 2,470 mm. The boot space stands at 416 litres.

On the inside, there is a fresh upmarket cabin layout, which resembles that of shown in the design sketches revealed a few weeks ago. It also shares similarity with the interior of the Elevate. Additionally, Honda has given a dual-tone colour theme with a new touchscreen infotainment system, a steering wheel borrowed from its siblings, and new air-con controls.
The all-new Amaze is outfitted with a variety of features, such as an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment, a semi-digital driver’s display with a 7-inch screen, connected car tech over 37 functions, auto headlamps, rain sensing wipers, a wireless phone charger, USB Type-C charging port, engine start/stop switch, 6 speakers, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, cruise control, and powered ORVMs with auto-fold function.
Safety equipment list comprises six airbags, electronic stability programme (ESP), ABS with EBD, brake assist, hill hold control, emergency stop signal, ISOFIX child seat anchor points, rear view camera with parking sensors, and three point seat belts and reminders for all passengers. To top that all, it also comes with segment-first ADAS functionality with features, such as adaptive cruise control, lead car departure notification, auto high-beam assist, lane keeping assist, road departure mitigation system, and collision mitigation braking system.
Powering the new Amaze is the same 1.2-litre, four-cylinder, naturally aspirated petrol engine as the old model. However, Honda has fitted a new fuel injection ECU. It generates 90 PS and 110 Nm, and is mated to a 5-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission. As claimed, the 5-speed manual returns a mileage of 18.65 kmpl, while the CVT automatic gives out a fuel efficiency of 19.46 kmpl.
The new Amaze takes on the new-gen Maruti Suzuki Dzire, Tata Tigor, and Hyundai Aura.
