Lots of new affordable bikes and scooters were launched in 2024 in the Rs 1-2 lakh (ex-showroom) range. Here’s a look at all of them:
The biggest capacity Pulsar yet arrived this year with an aggressive price tag of Rs 1,85,000 (ex-showroom Delhi). The Pulsar NS400Z is built on the Dominar 400’s perimeter frame and shares design similarities with the Bajaj Pulsar NS200.
The 125cc sporty commuter segment has become quite an interesting one in recent years and Bajaj Auto launched its answer to the likes of the TVS Raider 125, the Bajaj Pulsar N125. The sharp and sleek styling makes it different from any other Pulsars in Bajaj’s lineup and should appeal to youngsters looking for their first bike.
The Pune-based manufacturer launched the world’s first CNG bike, the Freedom 125 this year. It has both a 2kg CNG cylinder as well as a 2-litre petrol tank. The claimed combined mileage (CNG + petrol) of the bike is 330km.

The mid-spec Chetak Blue 3202 was also launched, replacing the Urbane variant in the lineup. It has a 3.2kWh capacity battery pack with a claimed range output of 137km.

The other bike launched this year that runs on something alternate to electricity and regular petrol is the Honda CB300F Flex-Fuel bike. It is basically the standard petrol-powered bike with the engine being tuned to be compliant with up to E85 fuel (which is 85% ethanol and 15% petrol).
Ather Energy launched the most powerful scooter based on its 450 platform, called the 450 Apex. It has a top speed of 100kmph with a 0-40kmph acceleration time of 2.9 seconds and the exposed orange subframe underneath the side panel just looks gorgeous.
The EV maker launched its much-awaited first family scooter, the Rizta this year. Its design language is completely different from the rest of the lineup and it offers, probably, the biggest storage space in the market.
A new variant of the Ola S1 X with a 4kWh capacity battery pack arrived in 2024. It gets an IDC (Indian Driving Conditions) claimed range of 190km and a top speed of 90kmph.
