The new Keeway V302C, a 300cc V-twin cruiser, will file up ahead of the K-Light 250V as the Hungarian marque's flagship motorcycle here in India. Internationally retailed as the Benda 300, this Rs 3,89,000 (ex-showroom) cruiser has made its way to dealerships, and here’s what to expect from it in eight images.
Design:
This is a denim-jacket-and-sunglasses kind of motorcycle and its muscular look is more pronounced thanks to its low stance, fat tyres, teardrop tank (15 litres), scooped-up seat and that brawny V-twin engine. In fact, it reminds us of the Harley-Davidson Nightster from a certain angle.
Engine:
The cruiser is governed by a 298cc, liquid-cooled, V-twin engine which is mated to a six-speed gearbox and makes 29.9PS and 26.5Nm. Are those numbers the most exciting? Maybe not. Compared to the Royal Enfield Meteor 350, the Keeway makes 9PS more and 0.5Nm less.
Belt Drive:
The Keeway V302C gets a belt drive instead of a final chain drive and this adds to its cruiser charm a fair bit.
Underpinnings:
The Keeway’s 167kg dry mass is managed by an upside down fork (USD) with just 120mm of travel and twin rear shocks with 42mm of travel. This could become a little cumbersome on our broken Indian roads but hey, it’s a cruiser, it’s all about low and slow, isn’t it?
Brakes:
Braking on the Keeway is handled by single discs at either end, secured with the safety net of dual-channel ABS. At the front you get a 300mm disc and at the rear a 240mm unit is offered.
Seat:
The Keeway gets a scooped-up single-piece seat but with a seat height of just 690mm, this is one low rider.
Features:
You get LED lighting and a mono-pod digital instrument console, but it misses out on Bluetooth connectivity, which seems like a big miss at this price point.

Verdict:
Is the Keeway V302C an attractive motorcycle? As far as cruisers go, this is sticking to the book with its design and V-twin motor. It’s sporting a few promising hardware like USD fork and dual-channel ABS too. But considering our last experience with the Keeway Vieste 300 and Sixties 300i, we’re hoping from spec-sheet to real world experience, the V302C is in fact as promising as it looks.
