Lamborghini has unveiled a new Huracan trim in the form of the Tecnica rear-wheel-drive (RWD) supercar. The first of two special Huracan trims in the pipeline, the Tecnica is a lightweight, aerodynamic Huracan that’s powered by a naturally aspirated (NA) V10 petrol engine. Apart from new mechanical updates, the supercar also gets a redesigned exterior and a new set of wheels.
You might call the Huracan Tecnica’s front fascia "Sian-inspired", but Lamborghini’s inspiration was the futuristic Terzo Millennio concept from 2019. The lightweight bonnet and rear engine cover are carbon fibre, and other panels are either aluminium or composite material. Underneath, the frame of the vehicle is a “hybrid chassis” made from aluminium and carbon fibre.
The Huracan Tecnica’s aerodynamics give it 20 percent lower drag than the Huracan EVO RWD. Besides, its fixed rear wing produces 35 percent more downforce than the EVO RWD, and it even gets rear-wheel steering with a fixed steering ratio.
All four wheels get double wishbone suspension with electronically adjustable suspension. The standard wheels are Damiso 20-inch diamond-cut alloys with bold hexagonal elements. All four brakes are contoured, cross-drilled and ventilated carbon-ceramic discs and aluminium callipers.
At 1379kg, the Lamborghini Huracan Tecnica weighs 43kg less than the Huracan EVO, despite being 6.1cm longer. It even saves 10kg over the EVO RWD – only the Huracan STO is lighter than the Tecnica.

The Tecnica’s 5.2-litre V10 petrol engine is borrowed from the Huracan STO, making 640PS and 565Nm. It’s paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission, enough to pull the Huracan Technica from 0-100kmph in 3.2 seconds. It has a top speed of 325kmph! It’s equipped with the Lamborghini Integrated Vehicle Dynamics system (LDVI) and a bespoke Performance Traction Control System (P-TCS).
We're yet to know whether Lamborghini will bring the Huracan Tecnica to India, but we expect it to go on sale in markets abroad in late 2022 or early 2023. It’ll sit between the Huracan EVO RWD and the STO variants that in India, are priced at Rs 3.21 crore and Rs 4.99 crore (ex-showroom pan-India), respectively.
