The 2024 Maruti Dzire has been revealed ahead of its launch on November 11. The generational update brings in a host of changes inside-out, including a fresh design, new interiors, segment-first features and a new power house as well. While you can find all those details here, you must also know that the Dzire will be offered with an optional CNG kit from the beginning.
So if you’re eyeing for a more economical Dzire with the CNG option, this article is for you! We’ve gathered all the details on the design, variants, and specifications of the sedan’s eco-friendly choice and the features associated with this selection. Here you go:
Fuel Type |
CNG |
Engine |
1.2-litre three-cylinder NA petrol |
Power |
70 PS |
Torque |
102 Nm |
Transmission |
5-MT |
Fuel Efficiency |
33.73 km/kg |
Variants |
Vxi, Zxi |
The optional CNG kit is available in the mid-spec Vxi and Zxi trims of the new Dzire. It is paired to the new 1.2-litre three cylinder engine, and you’ll be limited to a single 5-speed manual gearbox only.
Using this setup, you get a slightly reduced output compared to the petrol engine that returns 82 PS and 112 Nm. That said, the fuel efficiency definitely stands better than the petrol powertrain’s usage. If you want to know more on that bit, we have the Dzire’s claimed fuel efficiency detailed in this story.
The Maruti Dzire with its CNG option ticked in the one-below-top Zxi trim brings you design deeds like 15-inch painted alloy wheels and LED projector headlights with LED DRLs. You miss out on LED fog lamps though, but the rest of the design is similar to the top-spec variant, with the same body coloured OVRMs and door handles, chrome inserts at multiple places, boot lip spoiler and shark fin antenna.
The Dzire CNG offers necessary niceties along with a few premium creature comforts and the list includes equipment like a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, a wireless charger, steering-mounted audio and calling controls, push-button start/stop, electrically adjustable ORVMs, automatic AC with rear vents, a 6-speaker sound system, and connected car tech.

The safety bit is taken care of by 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control (ESC), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), rear parking camera with rear parking sensors.
Opting for the lower Vxi trim will have you compromising on a few of these features. Also, going with the CNG option cuts you off from the Dzire’s segment first additions like the electric sunroof and 360-degree camera alongside a few more amenities. The prices for the new-gen Maruti Dzire are yet to be revealed and will be announced at its launch on November 11. Only then might we learn the new pricing for the CNG option as well, which is also expected to carry a premium. The sub-4m sedan will compete with all its segment rivals – the Tata Tigor, Hyundai Aura, and Honda Amaze – as they also carry the green fuel option.
