The new Porsche Approved programme has been launched in India to provide sales, warranty support and roadside assistance for pre-owned Porsche SUVs and sportscars. Before you can buy them, the cars undergo a thorough 111-point inspection and come with a minimum of one year’s full warranty.
Owing to steep import duties and taxes, new Porsche vehicles cost a pretty penny to buy in India – prices for most models start north of Rs 1.25 crore. The pre-owned market does bring the price down, but a used Porsche brings with it the anxiety that someone else may have abused the powerful but delicate powertrain, or cheaply repaired or modified the vehicle.
But Porsche only assigns the “Approved” seal to cars that have been through a 111-point, inside-out inspection. It’s a guarantee that the vehicle has only ever been repaired by Porsche technicians using genuine parts. All the mechanical components, interior electronics and safety systems are tested to ensure they work as the carmaker intended.
The carmaker’s Brand Director, Manolito Vujicic, says, “Our goal is for every Porsche to maintain its high quality regardless of age as a token of our gratitude to our customers for their many years of loyalty and support.”

As standard, Porsche Approved vehicles come with a 12-month warranty. The cars are usually up to six years old with less than 2 lakh km on the odometer. Most of the examples we could find were quite new and had barely run a few thousand kilometres.
The warranty covers repairs including labour and parts charges for all vehicle components. Of course, you have to pay for consumables such as engine oil, coolant and other fluids, brake pads, tyres and wiper blades. The warranty also includes 24-hour roadside assistance for the full duration.

You can check out a country-wide list of Porsche Approved vehicles on the company’s India portal. We expect that the new venture will ensure that pre-owned Porsches are repaired with the same love as new ones, so that the vehicles remain driveable even after changing hands and depreciating to less exorbitant price levels.
