The upcoming looks much bigger and beefier than the current-gen Vitpilen 250

A new Husqvarna bike has been spotted testing recently. We think it is the upcoming Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 and here’s why:

The catalytic converter in the bike is vertical and a bit spaced away from the motor, similar to that of the KTM 250 Duke. Whereas, in the 390 Duke, the converter is more horizontal and hugs the motor. This is a clear giveaway that the spied bike is the upcoming Husqvarna Vitpilen 250.

Judging from the images, it is also clear that the bike gets the same chassis, swingarm, engine and suspension setup as the KTM 250 Duke’s and the specifications are expected to be similar as well. As such, it will have power and torque output figures of 31PS and 25Nm. Interestingly, the brake setup and the wheel design are different from the current-gen Vitpilen. The brakes and wheels are also not the same as the one on the next-gen Dukes. Also, the spied bike looks substantially larger with thicker headlight bezels and boxier, beefier tank extensions. Even the seat seems longer and appears to be roomy enough even for hefty folks (like the test rider). The current Husqvarna bikes are known to feel a bit small and cramped, so it looks like the design changes will solve that issue.

The indicators are positioned slightly lower, the radiator cowling is fatter and the bike comes equipped with raised clip-on handlebars and rear-set footpegs, resulting in a slightly more upright riding position. We expect the tail-end could come with a tyre hugger licence plate holder and indicator in the production version as the one in the test mule seems crude.

The upcoming Husqvarna Vitpilen 250 will likely be launched by mid-2024 and is expected to get a price tag of Rs 2.3 lakh (ex-showroom). Its rivals will be the Bajaj Dominar 250, Suzuki Gixxer 250 and the KTM 250 Duke.
