The facelifted version of the Nissan Magnite has been launched on our shores from Rs 5.99 lakh onwards (ex-showroom). The Japanese carmaker has introduced the subcompact SUV with 6 different variants: Visia, Visia+, Acenta, N-Connecta, Tekna and Tekna+. In this article, we have detailed the pricing, design, interior and features of the mid-spec Acenta variant. So, those of you who have shortlisted this particular variant, here is a closer look at it:
Engine and Transmission option |
1-litre NA petrol engine MT |
1-litre NA petrol engine AMT |
1-litre turbo-petrol CVT |
Price (introductory, ex-showroom) |
Rs 7.14 lakh |
Rs 7.64 lakh |
Rs 9.79 lakh |
Available with three different engine and gearbox combinations, the Acenta variant is priced between Rs 7.14 lakh and Rs 9.79 lakh (ex-showroom).
An important point to note is that the prices for these prices are introductory and applicable to the first 10,000 deliveries only.
The Acenta variant of the Magnite comes with the new grille up front, surrounded by chrome elements. It introduces a chunky looking silver skid plate which beefs up the fascia. However, it misses out on LED DRLs and headlamps available with higher-spec variants.
From the sides, it gets a 16-inch wheel with a cover and misses out on the 16-inch alloy wheels which are available from the next-in-line N-Connecta variant onwards. The turn indicators are positioned on the ORVMs and you get a chrome finish on the door handles. The SUV-ish look is uplifted by the roof rails.
The rear gets the newly designed tail lights, but they are not LEDs (as seen on higher-spec variants). It sports a shark fin antenna, roof mounted spoiler, and a rear skid plate alongside a rear wiper with washer.
The interior of the Acenta variant gets an all-black theme unlike the dualtone theme offered with higher-spec variants. The Acenta variant’s dashboard is dominated by the 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system, positioned above the automatic climate control unit, which is offered from this variant onwards. While it misses out on the more premium elements offered with pricier variants, it still offers a pretty well-equipped cabin at the price point.
Amenities on board include electric outside rearview mirrors (ORVMs), automatic climate control, steering mounted audio controls, keyless entry, push button start-stop, wireless Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, four speakers, all four power windows and analogue dials with multi-information display (MID).
Safety kit includes 6 airbags, ABS with EBD, reverse parking camera with sensors, seatbelt reminder for all seats, ISOFIX child seat anchorages, hill start assist, and TPMS (Tyre Pressure Monitoring System).
The Acenta variant introduces the more potent 1-litre turbo-petrol engine in the lineup of the Magnite. The turbo-petrol unit produces 100 PS and 160 Nm and can be had only with the CVT gearbox option in this variant. The other engine on offer is the 1-litre naturally aspirated petrol engine which makes 72 PS and 96 Nm and can be paired with either a 5-speed manual or a 5-speed automatic transmission (AMT) options.
If you want a manual transmission with the more powerful engine, you will have to opt for higher-spec variants.
The facelifted Magnite is priced from Rs 5.99 lakh to Rs 11.5 lakh (introductory, ex-showroom). It rivals the Hyundai Venue, Maruti Fronx, Hyundai Exter, Tata Punch, Toyota Taisor, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Kia Sonet, Renault Kiger, Citroen Basalt and Mahindra XUV 3XO.
