Ola S1 Deliveries: Almost 4,000 Units Dispatched In December

After making grand announcements, Ola is struggling to meet the high demands. Deliveries of the first lot of Ola S1s have been delayed once again, with the company citing the shortage of chipsets and lithium-ion cells as the primary reason behind this delay.
Apparently, customers -- who have paid Rs 20,000 for the scooter -- have received an email stating that delivery timelines have been postponed by 3-5 weeks. Last time around, deliveries were supposed to start from November 25. However, now it seems that the scooters will not be handed over until the end of the year.
Furthermore, the next lot of bookings, which was supposed to commence from December 17, has been pushed to January. This is disheartening for those who have already paid Rs 499 for registering their slots but didn’t get around to putting down Rs 20,000 as the token for booking.
We did manage to have a small riding session on the S1 Pro earlier this month. While the scooter had its fair share of issues, it does show quite a lot of promise. Here’s what we thought of the scooter after our brief ride.
