Following its launch on August 15 and after the ensuing hiccups, the Ola S1 has finally started reaching customers. Ola Electric hosted a special delivery program in Bengaluru on December 15 for the first lot of owners. Now since Ola doesn’t have a dealership model, the scooters are delivered directly to the customers’ homes.
Ola had revealed during the media ride that the hill hold, cruise control, app connectivity, and voice assistant will be accessible during the delivery via OTA updates. But according to an online report, that doesn’t seem to be the case. All the said features will reportedly be available after a month or so via over-the-air updates.
The Ola S1 is priced at Rs 99,999 and the S1 Pro retails at Rs 1,29,999 (both ex-showroom, Bengaluru, including FAME II). While you can still register your slot for the e-scooter on the company’s website for Rs 499, the purchase window is slated to open in late January 2022.
If you want to understand the full buying procedure, you can head here. And if you want to check out the discounted price post availing the subsidy, check this out.
The Ola S1 is powered by a 5.5kW motor with the peak power rated at 8.5kW. The S1 claims to offer a range of 121km from its 2.98kWh battery whereas the S1 Pro is said to offer 181km from the 3.97kWh unit.
Apart from the Ola S1, you can also opt from the TVS iQube Electric, Ather 450X, Revolt RV 400 and other EV options.
