In recent images that have emerged online, we get a good look at the upcoming Royal Enfield Bear 650 scrambler which is based on the Interceptor 650.
Sharing the same underpinnings as the Interceptor 650, the bike has a similar silhouette in terms of design. The differences include a 19-inch wheel at the front, dual-purpose tyres, and a 2-into-1 exhaust system which looks really rugged. There are also a few design elements tweaked to better suit the nature of a scrambler such as the rear tail light setup, side panels, and a wider handlebar to name a few.
The Bear 650 will make use of the 648cc, parallel twin-cylinder engine putting out 47PS at 7150rpm and a peak torque of 52Nm at 525rpm. For now no official details are out, but we can expect Royal Enfield to slightly change the tune and sprocket sizes to better suit the characteristics of a scrambler.
Compared to the Interceptor, the Bear 650 Scrambler gets an inverted fork, and the rear still gets twin shock absorbers. This will be longer travel suspension compared to the Interceptor 650 for it to be able to handle off-roading as well. From what is visible, the bike appears to be using the same TFT dash that we have seen on the Himalayan 450 and Guerrilla 450. Additionally, this unit in the image is sporting a unique yellow, blue, and white colour scheme.
The Royal Enfield Bear 650 scrambler is expected to launch by the end of the year and could be priced starting from Rs 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
