Over 1,000 units of Audi Q2 manufactured in 2020 have been recalled.
A side blade panel on the C-pillar is the cause for the recall.
The Q2 was discontinued in October 2022.
It used to be a smaller alternative to the likes of the BMW X1 and Mercedes-Benz GLA.
Remember the cute little Audi Q2? The compact SUV boasted the title of the most affordable SUV offering in the luxury carmaker’s portfolio, and now nearly three years after its inception in the country, between which the vehicle also got discontinued, the compact SUV has been recalled for a potential hazard in its body panel.
In the units manufactured in 2020, the side blade outer trim panel on the C-pillar could become loose and fall off while moving, which can cause harm to others around the vehicle. Hence, Audi has recalled 1,029 units of the Q2 to inspect this particular issue and fix it if needed.
The Q2 was brought in as a CBU (fully imported) unit to India and was retailed with prices starting from Rs 34.99 lakh (ex-showroom). Yes, it was expensive for its size and what it offered, but packed quite a punch, thanks to the sole 2.0-litre TFSI turbo-petrol engine which put out 190PS and 320Nm.
