MG Motor India has teased the facelifted Hector again, thereby revealing several key details about the upcoming SUV. The refreshed Hector will slot above the existing model as a more premium SUV packed with features such as advanced driver-assistance systems (ADAS) and a massive 14-inch touchscreen.

The new Hector will sit above the current version that the Chinese-owned marque retails in India from Rs 14.14 lakh to Rs 20.10 lakh (ex-showroom).

New Hector’s front fascia teased

In the latest teasers, the Hector sports a new front fascia with narrow LED DRLs and a gigantic front grille with an argyle design chrome trim. The headlight surrounds that flank the grille are similarly oversized.

Lower down, the air dam is surrounded by thick chrome trim with a prominent sensor in the centre for the advanced driver-assist and active safety systems (ADAS).

2022 MG Hector facelift features

The facelifted Hector will get a surround-view camera similar to the existing model. Going by the MG Astor’s suite of ADAS tech, the facelifted Hector will get adaptive cruise control, lane-keeping assist, blind spot monitoring and forward collision prevention.

We know from a previous teaser that the new Hector has a redesigned interior with a 14-inch infotainment touchscreen. In addition, a panoramic sunroof, ventilated front seats and powered driver seat should be present.

The facelifted MG Hector will likely continue with the same 1.5-litre turbo petrol and 2-litre diesel powertrains. The petrol motor already gets a CVT option in the existing Hector, but a diesel automatic could be offered with its more premium namesake.

Both SUVs will together rival the Hyundai Creta, Tata Harrier and Kia Seltos. The new Hector will punch farther above with the Jeep Compass and Mahindra XUV700 in its sights.
