It packs a 6.2-litre V8 as standard with an optional 3-litre turbo-diesel and a supercharged V8 also on offer
  • The Vengeance is powered by a standard 6.2-litre V8 producing 426PS and 624Nm.

  • Gets Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a head-up display and ventilated seats.

  • Optional military pack offers bulletproof glass and body armour, smoke screen, gas masks and more.

What happens when the likes of the GMC Hummer, Toyota Land Cruiser, and Mercedes G-Class aren't rugged enough for some? In comes the Rezvani Vengeance. It looks as if something that Batman would drive with Robin, Batgirl and Alfred or for when he wants/needs to pull off to a rocky outcropping to chase the bad guys.

Exterior

Butch, outlandish and rugged. That’s the theme of this tank-like SUV. It is boxy, with sharp creases everywhere you lay your eyes. The massive wheel arches are complemented by the 22-inch wheels wrapped in butch 35-inch tyres, and the front bumper looks as if it could devour anything that comes its way. The rear houses a roof spoiler with a strap of horizontal LED taillight.

Powertrain

Puissance comes from a standard 426PS, 6.2-litre, V8 engine. Optional powertrain choices are a 3-litre turbo-diesel and a supercharged, 6.2-litre, V8 producing a mammoth 692PS and 885Nm, the latter costing a staggering $125,000 extra (Rs 1.02 crore).

One can’t be blamed to mistake it for a bare-bone military truck because that’s usually the case with such vehicles. But it’s not, in this case. It’s the polar opposite of that statement as the Vengeance packs all the bells and whistles you would expect to get in a luxury SUV. Two-row ventilated seats, a panoramic sunroof, head-up display, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, wireless phone charging, a digital driver’s display with augmented reality, and three-zone climate control are just a few features present onboard.

The safety kit is an extensive one too, with a host of ADAS features, including forward collision warning, lane-keep assist, automatic emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, and more.

Now if that does not do it for you, there’s an optional military pack that comes packing proper military-grade safety kit, which gets bulletproof glass and body armour, smoke screen, optional explosive device detection, run-flat tyres, gas masks, strobe lights, and more. We reckon Batman would go for the military package without a second thought. It’s all very serious.

Price

With prices starting at $249,000 (Rs 2.05 crore, ex-showroom), the Rezvani Vengeance is for the lavish with deep pockets. For that cash, it’ll take you to places where others might struggle without breaking a sweat, all while cocooned in sheer luxury.
