In September this year, Rolls-Royce teased its first-ever all-electric offering, the Spectre. While we didn’t hear much of it since, the prototype has now been spotted on road for the first time, revealing a little more of its design.
The model spotted was still camouflaged, but we noticed it has retained the traditional slatted front grille despite being an EV. The pair of slim headlights is in line with the Rolls-Royce models of today.
Move to the side, and we’ve got wheels that look more civilised than the turbine-like units in the teaser. While the tail lamps were heavily disguised, we can tell they’d be vertical units. The overall silhouette is similar to the Wraith. While the Spectre is claimed to be an all-new model, it will be built on the same spaceframe architecture as the Rolls-Royce Ghost and Phantom.
We’ve yet to take a look at what’s inside, but we definitely expect the Spectre to exude the classic Rolls-Royce opulence. It will most likely come with a range of advanced driver assists. Powertrain details have yet to surface.
All that said, you'll still have to wait until late 2023 to see the final production version of the luxury electric sedan.
