The Royal Enfield Bear 650 was launched last week at EICMA 2024. The hugely anticipated bike comes packed with some essential modern features and here’s a detailed look at them:
The Bear 650 has all-LED lighting making it the first bike in Royal Enfield’s 650cc lineup to get this. Switchable dual-channel ABS is available as standard, which will allow you to have sideways fun on the trails. The instrument console is the same 4-inch round TFT instrument console seen on the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and the Royal Enfield Guerilla 450. It has Bluetooth connectivity for call and SMS alerts, music controls and Google Maps navigation. The call and SMS alerts along with the music controls can be operated using the left hand switchgear. In order to use Google Maps navigation, you’ll have to connect via the Royal Enfield smartphone app and the phone’s screen needs to be on at all times, which will drain the battery quite quickly in the process. But you can keep the phone charged during those long rides using the USB charging port or the 5V, 2A output available on the bike.
The new scrambler is based on the Interceptor 650 and is powered by the same 648cc, inline twin-cylinder engine producing 47.4PS at 7,150rpm and 56.5Nm at 5,150rpm. It has an inverted fork with 130mm wheel travel and twin shock with a 115mm wheel travel. Stopping the bike is a 320mm front disc brake and a 270mm rear disc brake. Its prices start from Rs 3.39 lakh (ex-showroom) and its main rival is the Moto Morini Seiemmezzo 6 ½.
