The Royal Enfield is one of the few new motorcycles to arrive from the Chennai-based manufacturer in the coming months. The bike has been teased by Royal Enfield recently and has confirmed that it will be unveiled on November 5, 2024, at EICMA. Also, a promotional video of the upcoming scrambler has been leaked online, confirming a lot of details we had earlier speculated about the bike.
The Royal Enfield Bear 650 is based on the Interceptor 650 and gets similar styling in some parts like the braced handlebar, rotary switchgear, round LED headlight, retro mirrors, and the teardrop-shaped fuel tank. In the middle section, the Bear 650 gets a round side panel similar to the round racing number plates found in retro scramblers of the past. Instead of a racing number, the side panel has the “Bear 650” name on it. The tail section has been redesigned and the bike looks lighter than the Interceptor from the pictures. The major difference from the Interceptor 650 is that the Bear 650 gets an inverted fork. The exhaust note of the scrambler is quite growly and gnarly in nature and should make it attract a lot of attention on the road.
The promotional video also showed a model with the chassis painted in green and a racing number with chequered flag graphics on the side panel. This suggests that the Bear 650 will get some really eye-popping colour schemes as an homage to the iconic scramblers of the 60s and the 70s. In fact, the production version of the bike that was leaked recently had a bright and funky colour scheme and it looks so good. Also, the video confirmed that the Bear 650 will get the round TFT instrument console found in the Himalayan 450 and the Guerrilla 450. The top-end variant is likely to get this console while the base variant will get the analogue console from the Super Meteor 650.
The Bear 650 will be powered by the same 648cc, parallel twin-cylinder engine found in the Interceptor 650 and the Continental GT 650. The scrambler is expected to be launched by January 2025 with a price tag of about Rs 3.50 lakh (ex-showroom).
