Quick News Highlights:
- The all-new Royal Enfield Bullet 650 has been spotted testing
- The updated Interceptor 650 and Hunter 350 have also been spied alongside
- The three bikes are expected to be launched sometime in early 2025
Royal Enfield’s annual rate of churning out new bikes one after the other has increased in the past few years. Having already launched the Shotgun 650 and the Guerrilla 450 this year, the Chennai-based manufacturer has the upcoming Classic 650 and the Bear 650 on the docket for the end of 2024. And guess what? The new Bullet 650 along with updated versions of the Interceptor 650 and the Hunter 350 have now been spotted testing on our roads. Umm…
Let’s start with the all-new upcoming bike i.e. the Royal Enfield Bullet 650. The bike’s design is exactly the same as its smaller capacity sibling, the Bullet 350 but with bigger proportions from all angles. It gets the same round headlight with the headlight nacelle and fork covers. The iconic “Tiger Eyes” pilot lamps are present on the bike with bulb-type indicators. Other details spotted are the single-piece seat, twin peashooter exhausts and a squared rear fender.
The upcoming Bullet 650 will be powered by the manufacturer’s 648cc air-/oil-cooled parallel-twin engine producing 47.45PS and 52Nm. The roadster will likely be launched sometime in early 2025 and the price tag is expected to be around the Rs 3.4 lakh (ex-showroom) mark.
The updated Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 spotted in the spy shots gets an LED taillight along with LED turn indicators. Instead of the analogue twin-pod instrument console in the current bike, the spied bike gets a single, round instrument console and it could possibly be the TFT unit from the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and Guerrilla 450. I guess, the Interceptor is becoming modern now.
The engine casing is blacked out with silver-coloured fins and the chrome exhaust system is a new one with a tapered end and doesn’t flow outwards as much as the unit on the current model. The most peculiar detail spotted are the dual front disc brakes, which are smaller in size compared to the single 320mm front disc brake it currently gets. Looking at these changes, we think this could be the new top-end variant with all the bells and whistles while the rest of the lineup is expected to get just a single update in terms of the exhaust (and a few new colour options, maybe?). The current variants are expected to get a premium of Rs 5,000 while the new top-end variant is expected to cost about Rs 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
Two different versions of the Hunter 350 were also spotted. One with the Dapper Orange colour scheme and a halogen headlight (basically, the current bike) and the other one with the Dapper White colour option, an LED headlight and a silver coloured headlight nacelle. We think the latter could be the new top-end variant and the entire lineup could get an overhaul in terms of the variants.
Currently, the Factory Black colour option with a rear drum brake and spoke wheels is the base variant while the rest of the alloy wheel lineup’s pricing is based on the different paint schemes. We think, with the updated model, the Factory Black variant will remain untouched while the base variant will get alloy wheels and a halogen headlight (the current setup). The top-end variant will get alloy wheels and an LED headlight. The bike could also get new colour options as well.
The Hunter 350’s prices range from Rs 1,49,900 to Rs 1,74,655 (ex-showroom) and the updated model’s variants are expected to get a premium of about Rs 3,000 - Rs 5,000 each. Both the updated Interceptor 650 and the Hunter 350 are expected to be launched sometime in 2025 (the same time period as the Bullet 650). With so many new and updated models arriving out of Royal Enfield’s factory in the next six months, heavy traffic is the forecast for Chennai's ports till April 2025.
