Quick News Highlights:

- The Royal Enfield Classic 650 has been unveiled at EICMA 2024

- The bike is based on the Super Meteor 650 and Shotgun 650's platform

- Looks exactly similar to the Classic 350

The bigger capacity Classic is finally here as Royal Enfield has unveiled the Classic 650 at EICMA 2024. The roadster is based on the manufacturer’s 650cc also seen on the Super Meteor 650 and Shotgun 650. Bookings of the bike will start from January 2025.

The Royal Enfield Classic 650 looks exactly similar to the Classic 350 with the round headlight and tank, single-piece seat and the swooping rear fender but much bigger in size to accommodate the bigger engine. It is available in four colour options: Teal, Vallam Red, Bruntingthorpe, Blue and Black Chrome. The paintjobs make the bike look quite vibrant with a retro touch and the Black Chrome paintjob, especially, adds a shiny appeal to the bike.

Highlights of the bike:

- Same 647.95cc engine found in the other Royal Enfield 650cc bikes

- Produces 47.4PS at 7,250rpm and 52.3Nm at 5,650rpm

- 6-speed gearbox

- 43mm telescopic fork with 120mm wheel travel

- Twin shock absorbers with 90mm wheel travel

- 320mm front disc and a 300mm rear disc brake with a twin-piston caliper at both ends

- Wheelbase: 1,475mm; Ground Clearance: 154mm

- Seat height: 800mm

- Kerb weight: 243kg

- Fuel tank capacity: 14.8 litres

- All-LED lighting

- Analogue speedometer with a digital inset; tripper navigation pod available as standard

The Royal Enfield Classic 650 is expected to be launched at Motoverse 2024, between November 22-24, 2024. Its direct rival is the BSA Gold Star 650. A bigger capacity Classic has been on the cards for a long time and the highly-anticipated bike should now meet the needs of customers who have been yearning for a more powerful Classic model. We also rode the bike recently and here are our thoughts on it.
