The upcoming Royal Enfield Interceptor 750 has been spotted testing
Gets a larger 750cc engine & dual disc brakes
Could be launched by the end of this year or the beginning of next year
The upcoming Royal Enfield Interceptor 750 has been spotted testing in India. The new spy shots have given us a good look at the bike, and a decent idea of what we can expect from it. Here’s a detailed breakdown of everything that is new.
The Interceptor 750 maintains the same retro design language as the currently available Royal Enfield Interceptor 650. It features the same round headlight, tear drop shaped tank and overall silhouette. That said, Royal Enfield has made some changes here and there, like the use of sleeker looking exhaust end-cans.
The bike will be powered by a new 750cc engine, which will likely be a bored-out version of the currently available 648cc, air and oil-cooled, parallel twin engine which is used on the Interceptor 650. We think so, because Royal Enfield has done this before. The upcoming Scram 440 for example, was revealed recently with a new bored-out version of the Scram 411’s engine.
Currently the 650cc motor outputs 47.5PS and 52Nm. We expect the new 750cc engine to offer more performance, something around 55PS and 60Nm. This would be a nice bump in performance and would make the new Interceptor a more attractive proposition.
With the increase in power, there have also been a few changes made to the underpinnings. The roadster now sports a twin-disc braking setup. This is the second time we are seeing something like this on a Royal Enfield bike. Earlier we spotted the same on the upcoming Royal Enfield Himalayan 650.
Coming to the features, the upcoming bike will get the same 5-inch TFT console as the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450 and Royal Enfield Bear 650. The console offers smartphone connectivity and a lot of new features including full-fledged navigation via GoogleMaps.
Overall, the Interceptor 750 looks quite promising with the bigger engine and other changes. It manages to take what the Interceptor does well and builds up on that. It would make for a good retro-roadster that Royal Enfield fans and retro-bike enthusiasts can look forward to.
We expectb the bike to be launched by the end of 2025 or the beginning of 2026. It could come at an expected price of around Rs 4.20 lakh (ex-showroom). It will go up against other retro-style roadsters in the market such as the Kawasaki Z650RS.
