Royal Enfield has been the talk of the town lately with back-to-back new bike launches, testing out more bikes and filing trademark applications for more new bikes incoming, phew. Amongst this, an upcoming scrambler from Royal Enfield was spotted testing again.

The upcoming bike is based on the Royal Enfield Interceptor 650 and shares a lot of design similarities with the roadster. It gets a raised and braced handlebar. Design elements that differentiate the Royal Enfield Scrambler 650 from the Interceptor are quilted seat, oval-shaped race-number plate, LED indicators, two-in-one exhaust setup and an inverted fork. It gets the round LED headlight from the Royal Enfield Himalayan 450. The suspension setup consists of an inverted fork and twin shock absorbers. Similar to the recently launched Royal Enfield Guerrilla 450, the upcoming scrambler is expected to be available in two variants. The top-end variant is expected to come equipped with the Himalayan 450’s TFT instrument console with Bluetooth connectivity and Google Maps navigation. The base variant is likely to be the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650’s semi-digital instrument console. The Scrambler 650 is likely to get black and red colour scheme, as confirmed by the red graphics on the tank.

Powering the bike will be the air-/oil-cooled 648cc parallel twin engine found in the Interceptor 650, Royal Enfield Continental GT 650 and the Super Meteor 650. It gets chunky dual-purpose tyres with spoke wheels (likely to be a 19-inch front and 17-inch rear setup). The Scrambler 650 is expected to be launched at Motoverse 2024 (November 22-24, 2024) and the price tag is likely to be between the 3.4 lakh - Rs 3.5 lakh (ex-showroom) mark. Its rival will the Moto Morini Seiemmezzo 6 ½.

The Dark variant is expected to be the one to get alloy wheels and tubeless tyres as standard while the rest of the variants are expected to get these as optional. In terms of features, according to the report, the Classic 350’s pilot lamps, headlight and taillight will be LED units and the Dark and Chrome variants will come equipped with LED indicators with the other variants expected to get them as accessories.

Lastly, the updated roadster will come with adjustable levers, a gear position indicator on the console and a USB-C charging port. The adjustable levers are expected to be standard on the Dark and Chrome variants and as an optional accessory on the rest of the variants. The updated Classic 350’s price range is expected to remain unchanged from that of the current model’s Rs 1,93,080 - Rs 2,24,755 (ex-showroom) range. If there is a price bump, the premium will likely be a nominal one, in the range of Rs 3,000 - Rs 4,000.
