The monsoon is finally here, and there is another kind of shower taking place – its raining spy shots of the upcoming Royal Enfield Bikes. This time around the test mules of Shotgun 350 and Classic 650 have been spotted, and they look pretty close to being production-ready. Here is all the new information about the upcoming bikes
First up, the headlight nacelle and its design is exactly the same as the Classic 350, however, this test mule features LED turn indicators that look quite sleek. The handlebar is an Apehanger, on which will be standard and should offer an upright riding posture. Following that is the single piece touring accessory saddle, and a sub frame similar to the Meteor 350. Interestingly, the pillion seat which is raised, also looks sleeker and should be easily removable for a proper single-seat bobber appeal.
Oh, and the rear fender is attached to the wheel, a different construction as compared to the Classic 350 and Meteor 350. The reason for this is for a more authentic bobber look, as the tyre hugging fender moves up and down with the rear wheel. Even the swingarm-mounted butterfly-shaped saree guard is different. On the right side of the bike is a single-sided saddle stay with a hard case, and of course, this is an optional accessory as well.
Lastly, the blacked out brake levers, engine casing, exhaust, paired with the white walled tyres gives off a pretty vintage-sporty and classy appeal. Oh, and the blacked-out rear view mirrors are from the touring accessory catalogue. The bike was spotted earlier as well, and here’s where you can find all the details.
It is likely to launch by mid-2024 with an expected price of Rs 2.2 lakh, ex-showroom. It will go up against the likes of Jawa Perak and 42 Bobber.
Just a few days after its first India spotting, Classic 650 has been spied yet again revealing more details of the roadster. While it uses the same frame architecture as the Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650, the sub frame is different. It is more modular and features a pillion seat that can be easily removed, similar to the Classic 350.
Changing the riding posture from relaxed cruiser-like to roadster-like and upright are the mid-set footpegs, and flat, wide handlebar. Oh, and the attention to detail is pretty cool, because the engine casing gets a heat shield for rider protection.
The Classic could prove to be the perfect cash cow for Royal Enfield in the 650cc segment, and here’s why we think so.
