Royal Enfield recently launched the Shotgun 650 Limited Edition in India in collaboration with Icon Motosports. The bike was limited to 100 units globally and only 25 units had been allocated to India. It was priced at Rs 4,25,000 (ex-showroom) each which is Rs 65,000 more than the regular entry-level model.

The motorcycle’s purchase window went live on Royal Enfield’s application at 8:30pm on the 12th of February and it was sold out in just a matter of few seconds. The potential buyers then received a message that said, ‘The Legacy of the Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 Icon Edition has come to an end. Thank you for participating in the sale’.

Shotgun 650 Limited Edition

The Royal Enfield Shotgun 650 Limited Edition gets a triple-tone paint scheme which is inspired by the custom cafe racer built by Icon Motosports. The cafe racer was first showcased at EICMA 2024. The Icon Edition Shotgun 650 has the same body panels as the regular Shotgun 650 but gets a new red seat with Royal Enfield’s logo embossed in it, blue shock absorbers, bar-end mirrors and gold-coloured wheels which give the bike a very sporty look. The manufacturer also provides an exclusive jacked called the ‘Slabtown Intercept’ which matches the colour scheme of the motorcycle.

Mechanically the bike remains unchanged and it is powered by a 648cc parallel-twin, air-cooled engine which makes 47PS and 52.3Nm, and is paired to a 6-speed gearbox. The bike is suspended by an inverted telescopic fork and dual shock absorbers. Braking is handled by a 320mm disc at the front and a 300mm disc at the rear with dual-channel ABS. It has an 18-inch front and 17-inch rear alloy wheel setup with tubeless tyres. The bike comes with a semi-digital instrument cluster, a tripper-navigation pod and a USB charging port.

While Royal Enfield is not an ultra luxury motorcycle brand like Harley-Davidson, the company’s limited edition models have a huge fanfare and command a lot of attention. We have previously seen the Royal Enfield Classic 500 Pegasus Edition, which was limited to 1,000 units globally, getting sold out in a matter of minutes.
