Spanish carmaker Seat Mo has unveiled its first electric scooter, the e-Scooter 125. This production version is quite similar to the concept they had revealed last year. The new scooter’s performance is claimed to be comparable to a conventional 125cc electric scooter. The e-Scooter 125 will go on sale in Europe soon.

The e-Scooter 125 has a conventional scooter shape with an apron-mounted headlamp. It, however, has unique design touches like a round headlamp flanked by air scoops, a long windscreen, and an asymmetrical instrument console. It has a cleverly placed battery pack with a hub-mounted motor that frees up enough underseat storage space to hold two full-sized helmets.

Features include all-LED lighting and a digital instrument console with Bluetooth and geofencing tech that shows your scooter’s parked location. It also gets a digital shareable key so you can allow anyone to ride the scooter without a physical key.
While Seat has not revealed the electric motor’s power outputs, the concept scooter got a 7kW hub motor with a max power rating of 11kW and 240Nm of peak torque at the wheels. The production version claims to accelerate to 50kmph in 3.8 seconds and reach a top speed of 95kmph which is not far off from the concept’s claimed figures. It gets three riding modes: Eco, City and Sport as well as a Reverse mode.

It features a lithium-ion battery pack that offers a claimed range of 125kmph. It is a removable pack that slides out of the scooter and has wheels at the bottom to lug it around. Seat says the battery pack is versatile and can be used to charge other devices as well.

While Seat is part of the Volkswagen Group, the company does not sell its cars here and there are no plans for that in the near future. Hence, the possibility of the Seat e-Scooter coming to India is very slim.
