Skoda is kicking off the upcoming festival season a little early, with the introduction of a new variant and trim for the Slavia and Kushaq, respectively. The Slavia gets a new Ambition Plus trim, while the Kushaq SUV expands its Onyx trim lineup with the addition of the Onyx Plus variant. Both benefit from an exclusive Chrome Package and some accessories at special festive prices. Let’s take a look at what’s new:
The Kushaq Onyx edition was launched in March and was based on the entry-level Active trim. It cost Rs 12.40 lakh (ex-showroom) and Skoda has undercut the trim by Rs 80,000 with the Onyx Plus, which is priced at Rs 11.60 lakh (ex-showroom).
The new Onyx Plus variant is available in Candy White and Carbon Steel colours. It sits on new 16-inch ‘Grus’ alloy wheels and gets a sprinkle of chrome on the front grille, rear trunk, and the window line as well. Just like the Onyx edition, it is only available with the 115PS 1-litre TSI engine, paired with a six-speed manual transmission. No automatic transmission is offered in the Onyx lineup.

The Skoda Slavia was previously available in three broad trims; with the Ambition trim being the middle child of the lineup. That has now been joined with a new Ambition Plus trim, which slots below the Ambition trim with a starting price tag of Rs 12.50 lakh (ex-showroom).

Just like the new Kushaq Onyx Plus variant, this also gets a chrome treatment that can be found on the grille, lower door, and trunk garnish. It is available with all the hues offered with the Slavia and gets an additional in-built dash cam. The Ambition Plus trim can only be had with the 115PS 1-litre TSI engine, but you can pair it with either the 6-speed manual or automatic transmission. The latter carries a premium of Rs 1.3 lakh over the manual and costs Rs 13.80 lakh (ex-showroom).

Both the new Plus trim and variant for the Slavia and Kushaq will be offered for a limited time, with the current prices being a festive special. There are even exclusive corporate and exchange offers available for both. While the Slavia is a rival to the likes of the Honda City and VW Virtus, the Kushaq SUV takes the fight to the likes of the Honda Elevate, Hyundai Creta, and Maruti Grand Vitara.
