Skoda will launch the Kushaq Monte Carlo tomorrow as a new top-spec variant based on the Style trim level of the Kushaq compact SUV. It pays tribute to the Skoda’s motorsport history with sporty cues such as blacked out exteriors and new 17-inch alloy wheels. It’s likely to command a premium over the top-spec Style variants that cost Rs 15.29 lakh onwards (ex-showroom).
Up front, the Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo features a blacked-out grille and other gloss-black trim elements such as the air dam surrounds and faux skid plate. It also gets a contrast black roof and black roof rails.
From the sides, you’ll be able to tell the sportier trim level apart with its “Monte Carlo” fender badge and black ORVMs. It even has 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels that seem to be inspired by the Skoda Octavia RS 245 sports sedan!
The interior of the Kushaq Monte Carlo is even more distinctive than the exterior. It follows an all-black theme that’s broken up by substantial gloss red trim elements on the dashboard, centre console and door pads. The seats are upholstered in red-and-black leather, too.
As per our spied images, the Monte Carlo will sport electronically foldable ORVMs, which used to be present in the Style, until it was axed due to the global semiconductor shortage. More importantly, the biggest addition in this new top-spec variant will be the Slavia’s 8-inch digital driver’s display. Other features such as a 10-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ventilated front seats, wireless charging, a sunroof, and connected car tech will be retained.

You’ll be able to get the Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo as standard with a 1-litre TSI engine under the bonnet. The turbo petrol unit is good for 115PS and 178Nm, and it’s paired with a 6-speed manual gearbox as standard. You’ll have the option of a 6-speed torque converter automatic transmission with this engine option as well.

It’s almost obvious that the Kushaq Monte Carlo will be offered with the more powerful 150PS 1.5-litre TSI petrol engine. It’ll be available with the standard manual transmission and a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox.
Alongside the Volkswagen Taigun GT, the Skoda Kushaq Monte Carlo will face off against sporty compact SUV variants such as the Hyundai Creta Knight Edition and Kia Seltos X-Line.
