The Skoda Kylaq continues the brand’s tradition of scoring perfect 5 stars in safety crash tests. The subcompact SUV has been crash-tested by the Bharat NCAP agency and aced the test with flying colours! It is loaded with a whole lot of safety features, with many of them being offered from the base variant itself. Here is your detailed look at its crash test results:
The Kylaq scored 30.88 out of 32 in Adult Occupant Protection (AOP) and 45 out of 49 for Child Occupant Protection (COP). This rating led to a commendable five stars in both.
Frontal Offset Deformable Barrier Test Score: 15.04 out of 16.00
Side Movable Deformable Barrier Test: 15.84 out of 16.00
In terms of adult protection for the frontal impact, all body parts of the driver and co-driver received good protection, save for the driver’s chest and left leg which got adequate protection.
From the side pole impact test, the head, chest, abdomen and pelvis all were secured with good protection.
Overall, in all tests, the driver and co-driver received ‘good’ primary protection.
As for the Child Occupant Protection, the Kylaq secured 24 out of 24 in the dynamic test using the child restraint systems. For the 18-month-old’s front and side protection, the dynamic score was 8 out of 8 and 4 out of 4, respectively.
The 3-year-old child’s dynamic score for the frontal impact and side impact was a perfect 8 out of 8 and 4 out of 4, respectively.
