Skoda Showcases New Octavia vRS In India At Auto Expo 2025

Skoda fans, rejoice! The Czech carmaker has taken the wraps off the highly anticipated 2025 Octavia vRS. And there is even more good news as this car is expected to launch in India later this year. The Octavia vRS is essentially the performance oriented vevRSion and gets updates all around for a much more involving drive experience. Here is everything you need to know about it: 

Skoda Octavia vRS: Design

The vRS being the sportier vevRSion of the Octavia – it comes with a host of upgrades to distinguish itself from the standard model. First up, the Butterfly grille has been blacked out and is flanked by a pair of revised LED headlights, which have been introduced when the model was facelifted abroad. Then there is the bumper, which has plenty of creases and lines, giving it a nice racy look at the front. 

In profile, one can easily notice that the ride height has been lowered. Combine that with the 19-inch alloys, the Octavia vRS has a hunkered down stance.

Moving on to the rear, a pair of split LED tail lamps and an aggressively styled bumper round off the overall design.

Step inside the Octavia vRS and you are treated to a cabin that is much more than your regular model. For startevRS, the red and black theme match the exterior looks of the car and give it a sporty theme. The centre console gets a large 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system and sleek AC vents giving it a minimalist look.

The driver gets to grip a chunky 3-spoke steering wheel and behind it is a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system. Lastly, the front sports seats with chunky bolstering ensure that occupants do not get tossed around if your driver decides to have fun on a set of twisties. 

Skoda Octavia vRS: Features And Safety Equipment

Skoda has bestowed the Octavia vRS with numerous features, such as a new 13-inch touchscreen infotainment system, ChatGPT artificial intelligence integration for voice assistant, a 10-inch driver’s display, multi-zone climate control, a heads-up display, powered front seats,, 45 Watt USB Type-C sockets, multi-colour ambient lighting, and a 15 Watt wireless phone charger with cooling function. Safety features include up to 10 airbags, electronic stability control (ESP), tyre pressure monitoring system (TPMS), driver drowsiness detection, and ADAS.

Skoda Octavia vRS: Engine Specifications

Under the bonnet, the Octavia vRS features a 2-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged engine producing 265 PS and 370 Nm. It carries over the 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission and all that power is sent to the front wheels. With the help of launch control, it can sprint from 0 to 100 kmph in 6.4 seconds and tops out at 250 kmph.

A slew of mechanical upgrades have been made to ensure the Octavia vRS plastevRS a smile on the driver’s face. This includes a stiffer suspension setup, upgraded braking hardware and a quicker steering rack, all to ensure a much more involving drive experience.  

Skoda Octavia vRS: Rivals

The new Skoda Octavia vRS is expected to be priced from around vRS 45 lakh (ex-showroom) when it goes on sale. It does not have any direct competitive RS in India, however, you can consider it as an alternative to the Mini Cooper S as well as entry-level luxury sedans such as the BMW 2 Series and Mercedes-Benz A-Class.
