Skoda India has announced that from 1 January, 2022, it’ll hike the prices of its models by up to 3 percent. Zac Hollis, Skoda’s Director of Sales and Marketing, cites rising input and operational costs as the reason for the hike, but has reassured that “the customer impact in terms of the incremental price increase is minimal.”
Before the prices are officially announced, here’s a handy table to give you an idea of how much you have pay for each Skoda model currently:
Model |
Current Ex-showroom Price |
Skoda Kushaq |
Rs 10.79 lakh to Rs 18 lakh |
Skoda Rapid |
Rs 7.79 lakh to Rs 13.49lakh |
Skoda Octavia |
Rs 26.29 lakh to Rs 29.29 lakh |
Skoda Superb |
Rs 31.99 lakh to Rs 35.85 lakh |
The Rapid sedan is the most affordable Skoda vehicle on sale, but it is likely to be discontinued after the launch of the Skoda Slavia sedan in March 2022. The Slavia is based on VW-Skoda’s MQB A0 IN platform that’s heavily localised, and prices are expected to start at Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom). Similar to the Rapid, it’ll rival the Honda City and Hyundai Verna upon its launch.
In addition, Skoda is set to launch the facelifted Kodiaq SUV in India in January. It’s a Toyota Fortuner rival that could cost Rs 35 lakh (ex-showroom) onwards, powered by a 2-litre turbo petrol engine that replaces the earlier 2-litre TDI turbo diesel.
