Honda compact SUV spied again.
Radar on windshield confirms ADAS features.
Likely to get the 1.5-litre petrol and strong-hybrid options from City.
Prices could start from the Rs 11-lakh mark.
It wasn’t long ago when Honda’s upcoming compact SUV was spotted testing for the first time, and it seems like the paparazzi season is in full force because the compact SUV has been spotted once more. But this time around, a key detail has surfaced in the form of the radar system that can be seen housed behind the front windshield, which confirms the presence of ADAS.
Just as before, the spotted unit was completely draped in guise, only revealing the LED headlights with its integrated DRLs and a small portion of the upright grille. But more clearer in comparison are the front wheel arches, which seem to have a rather chunky cladding. The coupish roofline is evident, but expect a beefy-looking compact SUV once the covers are off.
A peep inside the cabin is still pending, but the features list should be on par with the best in segment so it could pack equipment such as large infotainment system with connected car tech, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, a wireless phone charger, and automatic climate control, while the likes of ventilated front seats and a panoramic sunroof would really sweeten the deal.
ADAS has already been confirmed as mentioned before and the safety kit should further get multiple airbags, front and rear parking sensors, electronic stability control and more.
The upcoming BS VI Phase-2 emission norms are going to bring a change in the way Honda goes about offering engine options. Hence, no diesel is expected as the compact SUV is expected to be petrol-only. It could borrow CIty’s powertrains: the 121PS 1.5-litre petrol and 126PS 1.5-litre strong-hybrid engines. The former should get the six-speed manual and CVT, while the hybrid powertrain is likely to be geared using the e-CVT.

With the compact SUV being papped twice in a span of just over a week, paparazzi season will surely keep bringing us new details as we inch closer to its debut this summer. Honda could retail it from around Rs 11 lakh (ex-showroom), and it will take the fight to the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Toyota Hyryder, and Skoda Kushaq.
