Suzuki may not be ready yet to bring out the Burgman Electric, but it sure seems prepared to take on the TVS NTorq 125. Suzuki’s latest teaser of the upcoming sporty scooter doesn’t give out many details, but just enough for us to know what to expect from the Japanese two-wheeler giant.
Made For The Gen Z
At the moment, Suzuki’s 125cc scooter portfolio in India lacks a sporty option that would appeal to the youth, and the new scooter will fill that void. It is evident from the sporty design (read cuts and slashes), something similar to the TVS NTorq 125 and Yamaha RayZR 125 Hybrid. Suzuki is likely to introduce the scooter with a bunch of striking colours to woo the young purchaser.
Same Old Heart As The Access 125
Suzuki is unlikely to bring a new engine, and instead, will use the same 124cc engine as the Access 125, which makes 8.7PS and 10Nm. Though the Access targets a mature crowd, its engine is one of the quickest in the segment, and the same in a sporty (and possibly lighter) scooter will only make it more fun.
Loaded To The Gills
The new scooter will be equipped with an LED headlight, LED DRL, and a unique split LED taillight. It even gets a digital instrument console borrowed from the Connected variants of the Access 125 and Burgman Street 125. So, it will flaunt features like call/messages alert and turn-by-turn navigation.
Suzuki’s new scooter will also benefit from the integrated engine start and kill switch. The Japanese manufacturer may even throw in an external fuel filler cap, just like we have seen on the Access 125.
A Tempting Pricing To Match
The Connect Edition of the Suzuki Access 125 is priced at Rs 81,600 and Rs 83,600 (both ex-showroom Delhi) for the drum and disc variants, respectively. We expect the new scooter to be priced at around Rs 85,000, pitting it against the TVS NTorq 125 Race XP, which is currently the quickest 125cc scooter.
