Deliveries slated to commence in May 2023.
Tata has expanded its lineup of vehicles powered by cleaner alternative fuel by opening the order books of the Altroz CNG for a token amount of Rs 21,000. The CNG kit is available in a total of four trims, including the top-spec XZ+ trim so you won’t have to sacrifice creature comforts for frugal running costs. In fact, in the Altroz CNG’s case, you won’t even have to settle for a smaller boot, thanks to a clever dual cylinder setup implemented by Tata.
This layout was first shown at this year's Auto Expo in the Punch CNG and the Altroz CNG. The former is yet to get an official confirmation for market launch, so the Altroz takes the lead here. What Tata has done basically is remove the one big cylinder and replace it with two small ones (30-litre water capacity each) that are packed together. This saves up a lot of space in the boot and makes the Altroz CNG a more practical offering.

The CNG kit should be paired to the hatchback’s 1.2-litre NA petrol powertrain and just like in the Tigor CNG, the motor should produce 73.4PS and 95Nm in CNG mode. Transmission duties are likely to be carried out by a five-speed manual transmission.
No deets on whether the premium hatchback would pack new features or not, but it should continue with its existing list of features which includes a 7-inch infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, connected car technology, a Harman sound system, climate control, rear 12-volt power outlet, and height adjustable driver’s seat. Its safety kit should include dual airbags, ABS with EBD, auto headlamps, rain-sensing wipers and rear parking sensors with a rear camera.

You can put down your name for the Altroz CNG for a token amount of Rs 21,000 and we reckon the CNG variants will carry a steeper price tag (around Rs 1 lakh more) over their corresponding petrol trims. The carmaker hasn’t revealed when exactly the car will be launched, but since deliveries are commencing in May, it should happen before that. So, stay tuned for that information. The CNG-powered Altroz will be an alternative to CNG-fitted Maruti Baleno and Toyota Glanza.
