Ahead of its launch, Tata Motors showcased a close-to-production version of the Curvv at the Bharat Mobility Expo. It will slot in the highly competitive compact SUV segment and Tata is looking to make a name out for itself with the uniquely styled Curvv and its SUV-coupe design. If you’re looking to get one when it’s launched down the road, here are the top 5 things you need to know about the Curvv.
The Curvv’s design is similar to the concept, except for a few tweaks. For instance, the LED DRLs have been updated and are now similar to the ones on the Nexon. The grille has been mildly tweaked with new inserts and the lower air dam and has been revised as well. The overall shape of the headlight housing has been retained, but the element inside it is new.
Towards the side, we can first notice the sloping roofline and chunky squared-out wheel arches. These are filled by large 18-inch alloy wheels with a petal-like design that looks sporty. The rear portion gets sleek LED tail lamps, while the bumper comes with reversing lights on both ends.
We are yet to see the interior of the production-spec Curvv, but we did get a sneak peek. By the looks of it, the dashboard design takes elements from the Nexon and Harrier. For more details check out the spy shots of the Curvv’s interiors.

In terms of the feature set, the Tata Curvv could include the like of a big 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats, a large panoramic glass roof and a digital instrument cluster amongst others.
The Curvv is also expected to have ADAS features like adaptive cruise control, front and rear collision warning, autonomous emergency braking, traffic sign recognition, blind spot monitoring and high beam assist to name a few. That said, apart from the ADAS, the Curvv is expected to get safety features like ABS with EBD, six airbags, ISOFIX child seat mounts, electronic stability control and more.
Tata is expected to launch the electric version of the Curvv first followed by the ICE variants. The electric powertrain is expected to get multiple battery sizes and powertrain options.
The Tata Curvv will also get the 1.5-litre diesel engine from the Nexon sub-4 metre SUV. This unit develops 115 PS and 260 Nm, and will be paired with a 6-speed manual transmission. An automatic option is also expected down the line. For the petrol unit, the new 1.2-litre T-GDI turbo petrol engine is expected with a rating of 125 PS and 225 Nm is chosen. Transmission options will include either a 6-speed manual or a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission.
We can expect the Curvv EV to be priced around the Rs 20 lakh mark while the ICE variant could start from Rs 11 lakh.
The Tata Curvv will head against the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Skoda Kushaq. Meanwhile, the Curvv EV will rival the MG ZS EV, Hyundai Kona Electric, and the recently spotted Hyundai Creta EV and the upcoming Maruti Suzuki eVX.
