Here’s A Look At All The Tata EVs And Their Real World Range

Tata Motors India has officially teased the highly anticipated Curvv SUV Coupe in a video showcasing both the EV and ICE models being tested in higher altitude regions of the country. Slated to debut in the coming months, the Tata Curvv EV is set to launch before the ICE models and here are all the things which we could spot and make out from the teaser video.
Apart from giving out design cues, the teaser video snippets give glimpses of its feature niceties on board. A large 10.25-inch digital driver’s display could be seen, borrowed from the Nexon.
Furthermore, ADAS features such as lane-keep assist were also spotted on the screen, suggesting it to have all the usual autonomous bells and whistles including emergency braking, blind-spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control.
Additionally, paddle shifters and a rotary dial drive mode selector can also be seen, suggesting that the Tata Curvv EV could get multiple regenerative braking and driving modes such as Eco, City and Sport, as found in the Nexon EV.

Both the EV and ICE models of the Tata Curvv will be packed with features up to the brim. They will be equipped with niceties such as a large 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless phone connectivity for Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, in-built Tata IRA apps (connected car technology), a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display with EV specific graphics (for the Curvv EV), ventilated front seats, keyless entry with push button start.stop functionality, wireless phone charging, a large panoramic sunroof, and an automatic climate control unit.
On the safety front, both the ICE and EV models of the Tata Curvv are expected to be equipped with 6-airbags, ABS and EBD as standard across all the trims. Additionally, electronic stability control, traction control, hill hold and hill start assist, a 360 degree surround view camera with front and rear parking sensors, three point seatbelts for all occupants with reminder, tyre pressure monitoring system and ADAS tech like blind spot detection, emergency collision braking, adaptive cruise control and lane keep assist is likely to be available.
Though the engine specifications are yet to be officially announced, the Tata Curvv ICE (internal combustion engine) model is expected to offer both petrol and diesel powertrain options.
The 1.2-litre turbo petrol engine will be new, producing 125 PS and 225 Nm, and a Nexon-sourced 1.5-litre turbo diesel unit producing 115 PS and 260 Nm will be on offer. Transmission options can include a 6-speed manual transmission for both the engine options along with a dual-clutch automatic for the petrol variants. An automatic transmission for the diesel could also be offered.
Based on Tata’s Acti.ev platform, the Curvv EV is expected to get two battery pack options (Medium Range & Long Range) with a WLTP claimed range of up to 500 km.
The Tata Curvv EV is expected to launch before the ICE model, in the later half of the year with an introductory price north of Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). It will lock horns with EVs like the BYD Atto 3, MG ZS EV and the upcoming Hyundai Creta EV.
The ICE Curvv is expected to be introduced around the Rs 10.50 lakh (ex-showroom) mark, and will offer a SUV coupe alternative to compact SUVs like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, VW Taigun, Skoda Kushaq and the upcoming Citroen Basalt.
