From being showcased as a swanky concept to evolving into a production-ready vehicle – cars usually lose the original styling cues that get those concepts all the headlines in the first place. But things are different with Tata’s Curvv concept, which was recently showcased in a near-production-ready form at the recent Bharat Mobility Expo. In this story, we take a look at what has changed and what hasn’t from the ICE concept that was displayed at Auto Expo 2023.
On the face of it, the Tata Curvv hasn’t changed all that much. The nose carries the same styling, but with minute tweaks to the details. The LED DRLs are different, and are similar to what we’ve seen on the Nexon EV. The detailing for the inserts on the grille and on the lower air dam have been tweaked. While the outline for the headlights is still similar, the headlights themselves are different.
In profile, the sloping roofline has been retained, but those massive alloy wheels have now been replaced by realistic 18-inch wheels. The styling for the alloys, however, are still similarly swanky with a petal-like design. The wheel arch and side sill cladding have been toned down a bit, but those are the only changes from the side.

The rear shape is similar with changes being made to the bumper design, where you now get the reversing lights flanking it. Another change comes in the form of the shark fin antenna and the roof spoiler, which is now subtler compared to the concept’s.

Overall, Tata has done a good job of retaining the quirks of the Curvv concept and implementing them in what is a near-production-ready model.
We haven’t had a proper look at the near-production cabin of the Curvv yet, but going by the glimpse and spy shot images, you can expect a cabin similar to the Nexon sub-4m SUV’s. So compared to the concept, the dashboard will see some tweaks, but the AC controls are going to be the same touch-sensitive unit. The steering wheel will have that illuminated Tata logo, but the overall design will be the one seen on the Harrier. So it still will be minimalistic, just like the initial concept showcased.

Tata has confirmed that the Curvv EV will arrive first, followed by the ICE-powered Curvv three to four months later, sometime around the festive season. We expect prices to start from around the Rs 10.5 lakh mark. It’ll rival the likes of the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, and Skoda Kushaq.
