The Tata Curvv is all set to make its debut tomorrow alongside the launch of its electric avatar - the Curvv EV. A launch for the ICE-version is expected sometime in September, but you can already go ahead and book one for yourself at select dealerships. In this story, we take a detailed look at all the aspects of the Curvv, ahead of its debut tomorrow.
The Tata Curvv’s styling is bound to stand out in the compact SUV segment, considering that it’ll only be one of two models to boast an SUV-coupe styling with a sloping roofline. The front design is familiar with the connected LED DRL strip running across the bonnet and the main headlights being placed below them.
Its grille is split halfway across and gets body coloured inserts (on certain colours) that contrast the Piano Black elements that it is placed on. There’s plenty of muscle on the bonnet that follows in profile with the chunky wheel arches and rugged slide cladding. The 18-inch alloys with a petal-like design, flush door handles and the sloping roofline are all the highlights in profile.
The rear gets an upright boot lid with a sleek LED light bar running across it. The ‘CURVV’ wordmark is placed right in the centre of the boot lip and the bumper gets a nice contrast with the piano black panels and a silver colour for the skid plate down below. The split roof-mounted spoiler and the shark fin antenna add a sporty touch at the rear.
Tata hasn’t completely revealed the cabin of the Tata Curvv just yet. But thanks to our spy shots and recent teasers, we know that the cabin will be a familiar place to be in. The dashboard will be very, if not entirely, similar to the Nexon, while the steering wheel will be the same as seen in the Harrier.

The themes on offer could vary with dual tone shades and persona-specific hues, but the central touch sensitive panel for the AC controls and Land Rover-like gearlever for the automatic variant is going to be the same. What’s different will be the use of ambient lighting, which will spread across the dashboard and even follow into the door pads. More details on the cabin at its debut tomorrow, so stay tuned for that!
Just like every new Tata out there, the Curvv too will be blessed with plenty of creature comforts. The list, as seen on a teaser, includes a 12.3-inch infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, panoramic sunroof, ventilated seats, and a wireless phone charger.
Safety kit is likely to be taken care of with six airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, front and rear parking sensors, a 360-degree camera, and ADAS.
The Curvv will debut Tata’s new Adaptive Tech Forward Lifestyle Architecture (ATLAS) platform and get two engine options: a new 125 PS 1.2-litre T-GDI turbo-petrol and the Nexon-sourced 115 PS 1.5-litre diesel engine.
Both engines will get a 6-speed manual as standard, while the turbo-petrol will get the option of a dual-clutch automatic transmission. The diesel engine could be offered with an automatic transmission as well.
To keep the pricing competitive, the base-spec Tata Curvv could be priced from Rs 10.5 lakh (ex-showroom).
That price will put it right in the middle of the compact SUV segment with rivals like the Citroen Basalt as well as the stalwarts like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Volkswagen Taigun, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate and MG Astor.
