Anticipate it to be feature-loaded
Curvv will go on sale as an EV first, followed by the internal combustion engined (ICE) version.
With the internet going crazy with spy shots of the Tata Curvv going viral almost every week, we have come across yet another one which has given us more insights on the upcoming SUV-coupe. This time around, the Tata Curvv has been spotted with blind spot monitoring, as can be seen in the image below.
As the name indicates, blind spot monitoring system in cars is a safety feature that notifies drivers about an obstacle in his blindspot, helping them avoid collisions. Utilizing sensors, typically located on the side or rear bumper, the system monitors adjacent lanes for vehicles approaching from behind or moving alongside. This technology enhances driver awareness and reduces the risk of accidents caused by lane changes or merging manoeuvers when visibility is limited.
In terms of safety, the Curvv is projected to offer a full suite of Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS), six airbags, 360-degree camera with front and rear parking sensors, as well as a tyre pressure monitoring system.
Furthermore, the Curvv is anticipated to be feature-rich, boasting conveniences like a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, digital driver’s display, electrically adjustable and ventilated front seats, a panoramic sunroof, wireless phone charging, cruise control, and keyless entry with push-button start/stop.
The ICE-powered is expected to get a 125 PS 1.2-litre T-GDI turbo-petrol engine and a 115 PS 1.5-litre diesel engine. There will also be an electric version on sale, probably with multiple powertrains.
It is expected that the Curvv EV will break cover before the ICE variants go on sale. Expected price for the Curvv EV will be around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom). It will rival the MG ZS EV as well as the upcoming Maruti Suzuki eVX and Hyundai Creta EV.
Upon launch, the ICE-powered Curvv, expected to be priced from Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom), will rival the likes of the upcoming Citroen Basalt. It will also lock horns with other compact SUVs in the market like the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, VW Taigun and Skoda Kushaq.
