Tata Motors has discontinued the XZ petrol variant of the Nexon sub-4-metre SUV. It came with a petrol manual powertrain and was priced at Rs 9.65 lakh (ex-showroom) before it faced the axe. After this move, the Nexon comes in the following 12 trims: XE, XM, XM (S), XZ+, XZ+ (HS), XZ+ (O), XZ+ (P), XMA, XMA (S), XZA+ (HS), XZA+ (O), and XZA+ (P).
The Nexon XZ petrol came with features such as a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, an 8-speaker Harman sound system, a digitised instrument cluster, and remote central locking. Passenger safety is taken care of by dual airbags, ABS with EBD, electronic stability control, and hill hold assist.
When it comes to engine options, Tata offered the 120PS 1.2-litre turbo-petrol unit in this variant, teamed with a 6-speed manual. Earlier, it also came with the 110PS 1.5-litre diesel engine, but that was axed back in June 2021.
The Nexon is currently priced between Rs 7.55 lakh and Rs 13.25 lakh (all prices ex-showroom), and is one of the carmaker’s best-selling models. It rivals the Kia Sonet, Hyundai Venue, Maruti Suzuki Brezza, Nissan Magnite, and the like in India.
