Back in September, Tesla trademarked the ‘Cyberquad’ name. Now, the company has launched the Cyberquad ATV for kids in the USA. It retails for around Rs 1.30 lakh ($1900) and is deemed rideable for anyone over eight years old.
Being a Tesla offering, it bears a futuristic, minimalist design inspired by the radical full-sized Tesla Cyberquad, unveiled earlier alongside the Cybertruck.
In the guise of lights, you get horizontal LED strips at the front and rear, complemented by an edgy seat and unique triangular alloy wheels. However, we do think a splash of colour would’ve been better to catch children’s eyes. Perhaps a Marvel edition?
Unlike the usual fleet of Teslas, this is nowhere near as powerful. But with a top speed of 16kmph (10mph) and maximum range of 25km, it should be ‘fun’ enough for the audience this caters to: kids.
The Cyberquad can even take some rugged terrain, as it is built around a steel frame that is sprung on adjustable suspension front and rear. The Cyberquad tips the scale at around 55kg and has a load limit of 68kg. So if you want to swing a leg over it, we suggest hitting the gym first.
All in all, the Cyberquad is certainly a fun little offering for future adventure junkies. As usual, though, it isn’t really practical for our country, considering the price is already as much as a Hero XPulse 200 4V, even without import duties. Besides, the kid-size Tesla Cyberquad was already sold out in just one day after bookings commenced.
