It flaunts some really interesting performance figures
[UPDATE: The Benda BD500 Dark Flag has been showcased at the Auto Expo 2023 in India! In fact, the bike will likely be launched soon.]

There is no doubt that cruisers are attractive. But cruisers that look muscular and have capable engines are the cream of the crop. Benda, a Chinese auto manufacturer, has showcased the BD500, a 500cc cruiser, which looks rather stunning and comes packed with performance.

The Benda BD500 takes on the American cruiser styling and looks somewhat similar to the Indian Chief Dark Horse. It gets a high-rise handlebar, muscular fuel tank, and sports a split seat setup. The exhaust, too, is flat and clean looking.

Powering the cruiser is a 496cc liquid-cooled V-four engine producing 57.1PS and 45Nm; rather impressive figures, and not just by cruiser standards. However, it tips the scales at a portly 241kg, which would surely bring down its power-to-weight ratio, especially in comparison with the Benda LFC 700 which weighs 214kg kerb and is powered by a 680cc inline-four engine.

In terms of underpinnings, the BD500 features a USD fork and dual shock absorbers. For braking, it uses discs at both ends with Bosch dual-channel ABS.

Apart from this, there is no more information revealed yet, and the cruiser is likely to launch at the Chongqing Motor Expo in September this year in China. That said, the BD500 is unlikely to head to our shores anytime soon. So, if you are looking for a mid-displacement cruiser in India, the Kawasaki Vulcan S is your only choice.
