Ferrari has taken the wraps off its latest creation, an ultra-exclusive, one-off supercar called the SP48 Unica. It’s custom-built for a single client, based on the F8 Tributo supercar platform but with a completely redesigned bodywork developed at the Ferrari Styling Centre in Maranello.
Its clean lines and cockpit-like cabin make the SP48 Unica appear futuristic. It has a minimalistic front fascia with intricately patterned air dams on the bumper. From the sides, its sharp shoulder line and two-tone 5-spoke alloy wheels give it a distinctive look that’s completely different from the Ferrari F8 and F8 Tributo supercars.
At the rear, the SP48 Unica’s engine cover has concealed air vents. A split-wing spoiler blends cleanly into the curved rear fenders, and the slim taillights seem to take their two-element setup from the twin-barrel taillights of the F8 Tributo.
Two air vents are placed just below the taillights, separated by a curved panel that features a Ferrari logo. Lower down, two exhaust tips are visible between air vents and aerodynamic diffusers.
Speaking of aerodynamics, each of the perforations in the air vents are designed to optimise airflow. The intercooler is placed just below the side windows for better intake cooling, and the rear overhang is relatively longer for downforce. The SP48 Unica has been developed using 3D prototyping and “procedural parametric modelling techniques” which make it possible to “coach build” such an advanced supercar.

Ferrari Unveils 296 GTS Convertible Supercar With An 830PS Plug-in Hybrid Powertrain
This one-off Ferrari is powered by a 3.9-litre twin-turbo V8 petrol engine that, in the stock F8 Tributo, makes 720PS and 770Nm. It gives the F8 Tributo a top speed of 340kmph, and helps it get to 100kmph from a standstill in just 2.9 seconds! That said, the numbers are likely to be different for the bespoke SP48 Unica.
The Ferrari SP48 Unica is a unique supercar that fills us with envy. It’s probably much more expensive than the F8 Tributo, which costs over Rs 4 crore in India (ex-showroom). Nevertheless, given that it’s a one-of-a-kind Ferrari, it’s likely to maintain its value for many years to come.
