After multiple concept iterations, a gazillion number of spy shots and a relatively short teaser campaign, the production-spec Tata Curvv and Tata Curvv EV's exterior design have been revealed in full. The Tata Curvv is the first mass market SUV-coupe and will slot in the extremely popular compact SUV segment. The Tata Curvv EV will be launched first on August 7, followed by the ICE version, which will be introduced a bit later.
More details about the Tata Curvv, including interior, features and powertrain specifications are expected to follow in the coming days.
First impressions of the Tata Curvv’s design - it's stunning. What sets it apart from its rivals is the SUV-coupe body style, which is a first for a Tata and the compact SUV segment.
Up front, the Curvv gets a gloss black grille with silver highlights and right above it is the full-width LED DRL (with welcome and goodbye functionality). Then there’s the LED headlights that’s situated lower down in the bumper. In profile, the ICE Curvv comes with large petal-like alloys that nicely fill up the arches and flush door handles (first for a Tata car). Highlights at the rear include the sleek connected LED tail lamps, which also get welcome and goodbye functionality.
While the overall styling between the Curvv and Curvv EV are similar, this being an electric version, gets minor styling differences. That includes a closed-off grille, tweaked bumper design both at the front and rear as well as aerodynamic alloy wheels.
While Tata is yet to reveal the Curvv’s cabin, it is expected to be similar to the Tata Nexon. Based on spy shots, the dashboard is dominated by a large floating touchscreen infotainment system and you get touch controls for the AC. Also, the four-spoke steering wheel with the illuminated Tata logo has been lifted off from the Harrier and Safari. Depending on the variant you pick, the cabin is expected to come finished in different colour options.
The Tata Curvv slots in a segment where features are given top priority.
Keeping that in mind, the Curvv is expected to come loaded with all the bells and whistles, including a 10.25-inch digital driver’s display, 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system with connected car tech, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, dual-zone climate control, a panoramic sunroof, a 9-speaker JBL sound system, powered driver’s seat, ventilated front seats, drive modes, keyless entry with push button start as well as auto headlamps and rain sensing wipers.
Passenger safety should be taken care of by six airbags, ABS with EBD, front and rear parking sensors with a 360-degree camera, electronic parking brake with auto hold, electronic stability control, tyre pressure monitoring system and Level-2 ADAS.
Underneath the hood, the Curvv is expected to get Tata’s new 1.2-litre T-GDI turbo-petrol engine, which promises better refinement and driveability. This engine is offered alongside the familiar 1.5-litre diesel engine sourced from the Tata Nexon. Check out the detailed specifications of the Tata Curvv here:

Like other Tata cars, the Curvv EV is expected to come with two powertrain options: Standard Range and Long Range. It’s expected to have a claimed range of over 500km.
The Tata Curvv ICE version is expected to be priced from around Rs 10.5 lakh (ex-showroom), putting it in contention with the soon-to-debut Citroen Basalt and other popular compact SUVs such as the Hyundai Creta, Kia Seltos, Maruti Suzuki Grand Vitara, Honda Elevate, Toyota Hyryder, Volkswagen Taigun and Skoda Kushaq.
The Tata Curvv EV, on the other hand, is expected to be priced from around Rs 20 lakh (ex-showroom) and will rival the MG ZS EV as well as Hyundai Creta EV and Maruti Suzuki eVX.
