The Kylaq is Skoda’s first sub-4-metre SUV and although the carmaker is late to the party, the Kylaq is a well-packaged offering to attract plentiful buyers towards it. On the other hand, we have the Hyundai Venue, which is not as loaded as some of the other SUVs in the segment, but it sure is a feature-loaded SUV for the price it's offered at.
In this report, we take you through the 5 things that give the Kylaq an advantage over the Venue. Let’s take a look at them:
The Skoda Kylaq comes with a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, while the Hyundai Venue gets a smaller 8-inch touchscreen. Both Kylaq and Venue’s infotainment units offer wireless connectivity for Android Auto and Apple CarPlay.
The Kylaq sports a Kushaq-sourced 8-inch fully digital driver’s display. On the other hand, the Venue comes with a semi-digital driver’s display with a coloured MID in the centre. The fully digital unit on the Kushaq adds a premium and modern touch inside the cabin and also provides the driver with more functions and controls.
Over the Venue, the Kylaq gets ventilated front seats, which is actually quite a useful feature considering the hot weather conditions that we experience in India.

The Venue gets a 4-way powered driver seat, but the Kylaq gets a 6-way function for both the front seats. Powered seats is a feature which is not as necessary or desirable as the seat ventilation function, but it surely adds to the premium feel of the cabin.
The Kylaq subcompact SUV comes equipped with rain-sensing wipers, which automatically switches on the wipers when water droplets are detected on the windscreen thanks to the sensor located behind it. The speed of the wipers are adjusted according to the intensity of the rain. The Hyundai SUV misses out on this feature, and you have to manually control the functioning of the wipers when it starts raining.
The Skoda Kylaq sports larger 17-inch dual-tone alloy wheels when compared to the smaller 16-inch alloy wheels that are available with the Venue. Larger wheels go well with the SUV stance and makes the vehicle look more appealing.
Out of the 5 things that the Kylaq offers over the Venue, which one did you like the most? Let us know in the comments section.
We have also done a head-to-head comparison of the specifications of both these SUVs. Head over to this story to check that out.
Introductory prices for the Kylaq start from Rs 7.89 lakh and its full prices will be out on December 2. The Venue, on the other hand, is priced from Rs 7.94 lakh to Rs 13.53 lakh (ex-showroom). Both compete with other compact SUVs like the Tata Nexon, Nissan Magnite, Mahindra XUV 3XO, Maruti Brezza and Kia Sonet.
