This has been a busy week with new bikes being spied, global unveils, some major incidents and some exclusive news. Let’s have an overview of all the main news that took place this week in case you missed it:
The upcoming TVS ADV might just be called the Apache RTX 300 over the name which TVS trademarked a while back. The ADV may get the new RT-XD4 300cc engine which TVS unveiled at India Bike Week 2024. The motorcycle was also spied testing close to its production form which hints at being launched sometime next year.
Yamaha had unveiled the 2025 versions of the R3 and the MT-03 globally. The bikes remain mechanically unchanged but go get a fresh design and new features to keep on-par with the competition. The motorcycles could launch in India sometime in mid-2025 and might be slightly more expensive than the current models.
KTM India has officially started the pre-bookings of the much awaited KTM 390 Adventure S and Enduro R. Customers can pre-book the motorcycles for Rs 1,999 through the official KTM website and through any dealership. The bikes are expected to be launched in January 2025.
Sources have revealed that Hero is set to launch the all-new Destini 125 in India in this month itself. The scooter was unveiled a while back but Hero didn’t announce the price back then.
Hero silently discontinued three models from its motorcycle lineup which include the Xpulse 200T 4V, Xtreme 200S 4V and the Passion Xtec. It seems that these motorcycles were discontinued a little while back, but delisted from Hero’s website just now. Hero’s 200cc lineup now only consists of the Xpulse 200 4V.
A while back, a video on social media went viral in which a Chetak electric scooter was emitting smoke in the middle of the road. Bajaj has addressed the video saying that the damage happened to a plastic panel and neither the battery nor the motor caught fire or had a thermal runaway event.
Kawasaki could launch the updated Ninja 1100SX in India soon. The Ninja 1000SX was discontinued in India a while back and was a popular option in the litre-class sports touring segment in India. Although this new Ninja 1100SX makes less power and torque than its predecessor, it now makes its peak power and torque earlier in the rev range which Kawasaki claims has improved low-speed performance.
Ducati has globally revealed the Multistrada V2 and V2S. The motorcycle gets a refreshed design, is almost 18kg lighter than before thanks to a new chassis, gets more features and makes more power and torque than before. This in-turn should translate to better performance. We expect the motorcycle to be launched sometime by mid-2025 in India and will command a premium over the outgoing model.
